Leta has many years of experience working with the Cherokees in Texas. She is a member of the Cherokee Nation and the Oklahoma Native American Basketweavers. Leta's exhibited and demonstrated basket weaving at the American Indian Art Festival in Dallas, Tx in October 2004. In November, 2004, she is started a chapter of ONAB for Texas basketweavers interested in ONAB's goals. The membership is growing as Leta schedules basket weaving classes. She expects some Oklahoma weavers will attend classes and other events this new group sponsors. Leta lives in Irving, Tx.
