  • Buffalo Grass, OK native  Buchloe     dactyloides

    Family: Poaceae                     Tribe:Chlorideae

    Sunshine Nursery

Longevity: Perennial Season: Warm Origin: Native Height: 5 - 25 cm Flowers: April - Dec Is a dominant grass of the shortgrass prairie west of our area and is commonly found on overgrazed uplands in our region. It has both stolons and rhizomes and the male and female flowers are produced on separate plants.   I am thinking we could use the buffalo grass and other OK native grasses as the coir of our coiling.
